POOR PEOPLE’S CAMPAIGN: A NATIONAL CALL FOR MORAL REVIVAL. The Poor People’s Campaign was started by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the late 60s. It has been revived to bring together those impacted by poverty and low income and those moved to make the issues of poverty, racism, the war economy, environmental degradation and religious nationalism part of our national dialogue and decision-making process.
